I have a great tip for homemade spooky spider cookies!
Make a batch of regular pale cookies, and top them with a few choc chips (but do not put any choc chips within the batter). As soon as you take the cookies out of the oven, and while the choc chips are still warm, take a toothpick and drag out 4 small curved lines with the warm chocolate from each side of the choc chips. When cooled, the result is a cookie covered with disgusting brown spiders!!

the “Halloween Fun Run” of course it never is intended to be that but here is how it ends up as a fitness event…..
one week before the children and I go for a walk & distribute 100+ orange balloons attached to notes to the neighbours advising them of the monster mob that will be out and about on the 31st Oct (asking if they are happy to participate in Halloween). That is the training event…. then the evening comes the competitors line up at our house and they know they are looking out for orange balloons on letter boxes. It all starts out orderly enough then becomes a frantic run from house to house with a group of parents jogging behind with no hope of every really catching up before they are off again to the next orange balloon in the distance. After a few k’s of this you have a sweat up and the children are asking us to piggy back them home!
Just make sure when they go to bed you get rid of most of the sugar!!

What a fantastic Halloween plan, Tonia! I hear it’s a big hit every year, so you’re obviously doing something right! Lots of “Awesome Mummy” points to you! What wonderful memories you’re creating, not just for your kids but for those who join in!

I would love it if you would tap out a few words here!
